These images are from a much larger body of work which exposes the infamous connection between racism, hate and violence. This triad has reared its ugly head in countless historical and contemporary instances, and in this country the violence that frequently ensues manifests itself as gun violence. By photographing these individuals and then shooting the photographs with different caliber guns, my intent is to bring this acrimony to light. I am hopeful that my work will stimulate a dialogue that initiates a way for us to recognize our differences, embrace them respectfully, eliminate the fear that drives our emotions and accept these differences with love.
