is an ever-evolving collective of like-minded souls dedicated to an exploratory vibe

IN

the mid 90’s, the genesis was myself, kevin schaefer and jonathan konrad forming the earthboys, we resided at winnebago studios in schenck’s corners filling our digs with old tractor, piano and washing machine parts, hubcaps and salad bowls, field recordings, vintage, contemporary and traditional instrumentation from around the world… with a healthy dose of electrons we transported weekly… everybody’s trip being a trip

THE

cast of characters has been a fluid ensemble, with folks arriving from all directions, however kevin and i have been the foundation and for 30+ years we have kept this experiment alive, we have worked with film and puppet makers, dancers and poets, we frequently invite open-minded souls to hang — there are no boundaries

WE

relocated to our new digs – PLAYLAND STUDIO after the corporate overlords and the city of madison allowed the razing of winnebago studios and the displacement of over 30 working artists

A

few years back i rebranded the experiment as YOU OF ALL PEOPLE, taking on a more political attitude, however the vibe is the same — detuned guitars, ping pong balls and the like… we still meet weekly, we still record every session, i occasionally release material and sometimes we succumb to the urge to step out, it is the longest running experimental happening in wisconsin
