An Invitation to Poetry is a collection of over 600, 10”x10” photographs mounted individually and displayed in a grid-like fashion. My objective is to show this work as both a static and interactive piece. Statically, this will cover 600 sf of wall space [15’ x 40’]. Interactively, the viewer will use these images as a visual vocabulary and arrange them to create their own personal dialogue. By selecting photographs and arranging them, this exhibition gives the viewer the opportunity to express themselves. They will then write an interpretation of their arrangement [via haiku, poem, story, dream…] and after taking a photo, upload it to the museums facebook page, thus creating and sharing a communal narrative.
